Mindfulness Sessions

This summer I will be working in a way that will honour my need to move slowly, and to practice what I have learned about stress, wellness and relationships. This summer I will be working in a way that will honour my need to move slowly, and to practice what I have learned about stress, wellness and relationships. I have imagined these sessions since I opened Inner Calm in 2018. I believe that these sessions will provide my clients relief, and effective care.

Sessions focused on developing mindfulness skills are facilitated by meditation and yoga teachers, and therapists. Sometimes I will facilitate, sometimes another therapist from Inner Calm will facilitate. The yoga and meditation teachers will change, rotate... there are several local teachers I simply haven't spoken with yet.

At these sessions you might learn to find calm between your thoughts. You might notice the voice in your head and practice being aware that the incessant chatter of your mind isn't you. You might practice noticing sensations in your body in a caring way. I think you will almost always leave feeling less stressed than when you arrived. (Can't say that for every talk session!)

Services with a MSW, RSW are often covered by health insurance plans. We offer direct billing to Manulife, OTIP, Green Shield, Canada Life and others.

With A Side of Fun Sessions

Hello. I am a mature student completing my Master of Social Work degree through Laurier’s part-time online program. I hold a bachelor’s degree from King’s University and have experience providing counselling to women escaping intimate partner violence. Additionally, I have experience in my private practice offering grief and bereavement counselling to both adults and children who have lost a loved one. I am also a proud mother of three adult children and a grandmother to 8 grandchildren.

I am honoured to be completing my practicum with Inner Calm and look forward to expanding my knowledge and experience. I strive to create a client-centred, non-judgmental, and supportive space where you can speak openly and honestly about your experiences. Together, we can develop a plan that promotes growth and healing through some of life’s toughest challenges.

Hi! This is Pranoti Kulkarni (Paro)! Your new Intern at Inner Calm!

Has it become harder to get excited about things you used to enjoy? Do you sometimes wonder, “Is this really where I’m supposed to be?” or feel uncertain about the road ahead? If any of this sounds familiar, I want you to know you’re not alone. Life has a way of throwing us curveballs, and it’s completely okay to feel uncertain or stuck at times. The good news? You don’t have to go through it alone. It takes strength to reach out for support, and I’m here to offer you a space where you can share your thoughts, feel heard, tell your story without judgment, and work together toward clarity and growth.

With a bachelor’s in Psychology, a Post-Graduate Specialization in Counselling and Autism & Behavioral Science, and a master’s in counselling psychology currently in progress at Yorkville University, you could say I am very passionate about understanding human relationships. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Q) and my learning journey is ongoing, and I’m here to support you with yours!

I like to think of myself as a “counselling chameleon”.I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Everyone’s journey is unique, so I tailor my approach to what works best for you. Whether it’s CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, or Person-Centered Therapy, I draw from a variety of tools to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward at your own pace.

With 7 years of experience in Canada, working with children, young adults, and families from diverse backgrounds, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges. My background in behavior support, developmental counseling, and educational roles has given me practical experience in addressing emotional and behavioral concerns. As someone from a South Asian background, I bring a unique perspective to therapy, deeply appreciating the role that cultural identity plays in mental health. This perspective allows me to create culturally sensitive, welcoming spaces where you feel truly seen and understood.

No matter what you’re going through—whether it’s anxiety, relationship challenges, or simply feeling “stuck”—I am here to help you tap into your inner strengths, build resilience, and navigate life’s hurdles. You have the potential for transformation within you, and I’m here to help you unlock it. Let’s work together to build a life that aligns with who you truly are, a life that brings you peace, fulfillment, and confidence!
